Alanis Morissette
Alanis Nadine was born in Ottawa, Canada, on June 1st 1974. Alanis is the feminine form of Alan, her father's first name. The name of her mother is Georgia and her brothers are Chad and Wade (Alanis' Twin). She started playing piano and guitar at the age of was 21 years old. In 1986, Alanis recorded a hit single, Fate Stay with My (b-side: Find The Right Man). Then, in Canada, Alanis recorded two dance-pop albums, Alanis (in the year 1991) and now Is The Time in 1992. Her move to Toronto at the age of 18 and began working with musicians and writers, but these collaborations did not work. Glen Ballard was the producer/songwriter she picked in 1994. Glen had previously worked with Aretha Frankin Michael Jackson and Barbra Strreisand. They moved to LA when she was 19. The 13th of June, 1995 "Jagged Little Pill" was released through Madonna's Maverick Records. Alanis's songs were autobiographical. JLP is the third most popular album in the history of music and has been purchased thirty million times across the world.
