Gabriel Salazar Vergara was born in 1936, on the 31st January. He was a prominent figure in Chilean historian. The country is famous for the study of sociology as well as his analysis of political movements. He played a prominent role during student protests in 2011-12 and the 2006. Salazar was born to an impoverished family. Salazar attended Universidad de Chile and studied the fields of sociology, philosophy and historical studies. He also worked as an assistant to Mario Gongora and Hector Herrera Cajas the classic historian. Salazar was part of the Revolutionary Left Movement from 1971 until 1973. Two years later, his torture was carried out in Villa Grimaldi by the military. 2] After his release from the military prison in 1976 , he moved into exile in the United Kingdom. In the United Kingdom, he received the opportunity to receive a scholarship to pursue his studies at the University of Hull. In 1984, he earned an honorary PhD from the University of Hull in Economic and Social History. Salazar returned to Chile within the next year. Salazar had a breakthrough 1985. The year 1985 is relatively unknown. Salazar's subjects of research included workers, peons and kids their huachos[A] along with women. Salazar is one founder of Nueva Historia Social which is the name of a current in history. Salazar regards history as an important tool for the social sphere. In an interview, Salazar has declared himself a "leftist and critique social historian" and has rejected the term "Marxist"
