Jill Hennessy
Her mixed heritage includes Irish Italians, Swedish, Italians french, Ukrainians, and Italians. Her twin sister, Jacqueline is an actor. Jill was able to learn several languages, including Italian, French, Spanish when she was growing older. She began her journey into acting around the age of twelve. Her career as an actor began in Toronto as she was the actor in David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers, along with her younger sister. Then she studied improv comedy at Second City with Deb Kimmet. After a few years, she relocated back to New York and signed a contract as the Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid on the long popular hit series Law & Order. She also worked in films like RoboCop 3 (1998), Ron Howard's The Paper (2000) and I Shot Andy Warhol 1996) over the course of her three-year stint. The next few years she landed gigs in a number of forgettable movies, but in 1999 she landed her first starring role in the micro-series uremberg with Alec Baldwin. Autumn in New York, Exit Wounds and other major productions would follow. Her first lead role was of the NBC Crime drama Crossing Jordan in 2001. In 2007, she won the Gracie Allen Award for "Outstanding female leading actress in a drama series" for her role on the show. In 2000, she married fellow actor Paolo Mastropietro. The couple have two children. In 2007 she was inducted into the Canadian Walk of Fame.
